Man injured in Washington Co. hunting accident

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Indiana Conservation officers are investigating a hunting accident that occurred Sunday evening in Washington County.

Conservation officers say 51-year-old Mark Collins, of Medora, Ind. was hunting near Coates Rd. at about 5:45 p.m. Sunday when he fell 17 feet out of a ladder style tree stand. A nearby hunter came to help, and Collins was airlifted to University Hospital in Louisville.

Collins' condition is not known at this time, but at the scene, conservation officers say he complained of having no feeling in his legs.

He was not wearing a hunter safety harness at the time of his fall.
