Powerball Jackpot largest in history

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- This week's Powerball Jackpot has set a new record at $425 million. The cash option payout is $278.8 million.

That's the largest Powerball jackpot in history.

The odds of buying a winning ticket are 175 million to 1.

The highest Powerball payout to date is $365 million. That jackpot was claimed in 2006 by a group of workers at ConAgra Foods workers in Lincoln, Nebraska.

We asked our Facebook friends what they would do if they won the big Powerball jackpot.

Etta says she'd "Keep 1 million. Give the rest to people who are trying, but just can't quite make it."

Kevin says: "I'd start skill training for people who want to add vocational skills so they can improve their lives even without a college degree.  College isn't for everyone and many people still want to move up in the world.  What good is money if you aren't helping others improve their lives?"

Connie says she would "hire a few body guards and a lawyer.  Then get my family and few real and true friends out (of here), because you're going to have a LOT of " Remember me" "we were friends" coming out of the wood work."
