LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- The second 21c Museum Hotel has opened, this one in Cincinnati in the 100-year-old Metropole Hotel building.
The new facility features a contemporary art museum, just as Louisville's 21c does.
"Following the success of 21c Museum Hotel in Louisville, we were approached by civic leaders and mutual friends. They wanted to enliven the cultural center in Cincinnati in the same way we had done in our hometown," said Steve Wilson, Co-founder and CEO of 21c Museum Hotels in a news release.
The hotel features 156 rooms and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It has 8,000 square feet of exhibition and meeting spaces featuring art exhibitions, multi-media installations, and artist lectures and live performances. The exhibition space is always open and is free.
Other facilities include the Metropole Restaurant and the 21c Spa, which is to open soon.
21c Museum Hotels was founded in Louisville in 2007. The company's third hotel is expected to open in Bentonville, Ark. next year, with others announced for Lexington, Ky. and Durham, N.C.
