LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Another milestone in Henryville, Indiana's recovery from the March tornadoes.
The high school basketball team hosted Christian Academy in its first game, at home, in the newly rebuilt gym.
Fans packed into the gym to cheer on the home team.
A Hornet's cheerleader, Marisa Thomasson, says, "The gym was the biggest thing that we lost and now that it's back I think a lot of people are gonna come in because it's just a big opportunity for us."
People say it brings a sense of normalcy to town, because the gym is the heart of this community.
Captain Cody Reister says, "Basketball is the center of our community and with a new gym new everything, and especially with the tornado it's definitely more than just a game for us."
The Henryville Hornets lost to Christian Academy 49 to 61.
