LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB)---A group of people is promoting the idea of bringing the NBA to Louisville.
Friday evening they met at Bearno's by the Bridge on Main Street to discuss the issue.
Some former Kentucky Colonels basketball players and supporters of the "NBA to Louisville" Facebook page attended.
A panel discussed the obstacles and reality of this happening.
"We have some minimal contact with the city government, but we're all about the grassroots. We're not any type of formal committee or pursuit team that's gonna land the team. We're here just to demonstrate that support does exist," says Albrecht Stahmer, who helped organize the event.
Some city and county officials also joined in the discussion this evening.
Supporters say a professional team would be beneficial for Louisville and the surrounding area.
