HYDEN, Ky. (AP) -- A jury has convicted an eastern Kentucky man accused of two slayings within three days.
WYMT-TV reports jurors recommended that Charles Dwight Watts serve a sentence of 20 years in prison for each of the two counts of murder and 10 years for an additional count of robbery.
He was accused in the 2009 deaths of Kelly Johnson and Chad Muncy in Leslie County. Watts is accused of robbing and killing Johnson on April 18, and killing Muncy on April 21.
The families of the victims say they believe justice was served; however, Watts' attorney said he was disappointed with the verdict.
