LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville man ran throughout the day Saturday and will run into Sunday morning as part of a 24-hour ultra marathon to raise awareness about autism.
Jim Ball's two grandchildren have the condition.
That's what motivated Ball and his friends to raise money for the group Families for Effective Autism treatment.
After running for five hours Saturday morning, he had already completed 26 miles.
"I've got quite a few friends that are scheduled to come out and run," Ball says. "Sometimes we have our biggest group that comes out to run at 2 a.m. It works out great."
This is the fourth year that Ball has run for FEAT of Louisville.
His goal is to run 106 miles, but he thinks he might run less than that because of the warm temperatures.
