LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Officials in Fayette County are searching for two inmates after police say they walked away from the Blackburn Correctional Complex Saturday night.
Police say 23-year-old Christopher Melton and 21-year-old Tyler Roberts walked away from the minimum security prison just after 8:00 p.m. Saturday.
Melton is described as a white male who is about 6'1" and weighs about 160 lbs. He is serving a 6-year sentence for theft and fleeing and evading. He would have been eligible for parole in April 2013.
Roberts was serving a 10-year sentence for burglary, theft, arson and tampering with evidence, as well as a handgun charge. He would have been eligible for parole in October 2013. He is a white male who is about 5'9" and 150 lbs.
Kentucky State Police and Fayette County officials are investigating. Anyone with information is asked to call (502) 227-2221.
