Kentucky parks official arrested for theft, misconduct charges

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Campbellsville Police have arrested a Kentucky Department of Parks employee after they say he was using a state-owned vehicle to transport stolen property.

Police say 57-year-old Bobby Thomas was arrested Saturday and charged with theft and official misconduct.

Officials say the Campbellsville Police Department began investigating a theft complaint from a local business several weeks ago.

After investigating, an officer discovered that a state-owned vehicle had been involved in delivering stolen materials to a local recycling business.

Police say Thomas had been covering up the Great Seal of the Commonwealth on his state-owned vehicle and trying to conceal its identity.

Thomas was arrested while on patrol Saturday and is now at the Taylor County Jail.
