LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A college student's murder has inspired hundreds of people to start a movement.
More than 200 people walked through downtown Louisville raising awareness to stop the violence.
Cheryl Williamson's cousin, Kenyatta Drake, organized this walk after the 24-year old Western Kentucky University student was shot and killed leaving a party at the Gillespie.
Williamson's visitation is scheduled for Monday night at the Bates Memorial Church in Smoketown from 6 to 9.
Williamson was murdered last Saturday and police still don't have any suspects.
Drake says, "Her crime was senseless. If there were police and security outside this would never have happened, it never would have happened at all."
Friends and family members walked down Market Street from Floyd Street to 5th Street.
Williamson's mother is overwhelmed by the love and support.
Donetta Williamson says, "It's really beautiful to see so many people love Cheryl. It's just amazing I'm really grateful."
With each step, they hope people will understand that violence is not the answer.
