LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- This year's Kentucky State Capitol ornament is a handcrafted replica of the Old Governor's Mansion.

The ornament is carved from maple and cherry, and can be hung from its ribbon or can be displayed as a paperweight.  The limited-quantity carvings are signed and numbered by the artist.  It features the seal of the Commonwealth of Kentucky and the signatures of Governor Steve Beshear and First Lady Jane Beshear.

"The Kentucky Old Governor's Mansion ornament celebrates the past, present and future of the oldest executive residence still used in the United States," said David Buchta, director of the Division of Historic Properties.

Proceeds from the ornament's sale help preserve the real Old Governor's Mansion.

Each ornament costs $25.  You can purchase them online by going to http://historicproperties.ky.gov/ and clicking on the eBay store, Historic Properties.

Ornaments will also be sold in Frankfort at the State Capitol tour desk and the Frankfort/Franklin County Tourism and Convention Commission.  For more information or to order by phone, call (502) 564-3449 or (502) 564-0900.
