LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A 24-year-old WKU student who was shot in downtown Louisville while visiting for the holidays was laid to rest today.
Cheryl Williamson's funeral was held at 11 a.m. Dec. 4 at the Bates Memorial Church in Smoketown. She was buried at Louisville Cemetery on Poplar Level Road.
Police say Williamson was leaving a party with friends in the 400 block of west Market Street before she was shot early Nov. 25.
According to witnesses, the shot was fired during a dispute with two men. A friend drove Williamson to University Hospital where she died a short time later.
Police are still looking for suspects. Anyone with information is asked to call the anonymous LMPD crime tipline at 574-LMPD (574-5673).
