Paige Raque appears before reporters for the first time

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Penn State cheerleader from Louisville who fell 39 feet out of a window is being called a "walking miracle."

Paige Raque was fighting for her life after she fell five stories from a window at an apartment complex near campus earlier this year.

The cheerleader suffered severe brain damage and a shattered pelvis.

On Tuesday, Raque appeared before reporters for the first time at the Frazier Rehab Center, where she has been receiving treatment for 16 days.

She is expected to be released on Wednesday. Her doctors say her recovery is nothing short of miraculous.

Tom Raque, Paige's father, told WDRB News last month, "It's been very difficult to see our daughter, our lovely daughter laying there and not being able to help, not being able to do anything."

You can follow Paige's progress on twitter, using the hashtag 'Prayers for Paige'.
