LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville police say they have not filed charges as of yet in the shooting of a 12-year-old boy Tuesday night.
It happened on Mt. Holly Road in Fairdale.
The boy, whose name has not been released, was shot in the chest and is listed in critical condition at Kosair Children's Hospital.
Police recovered a gun at the scene and claim several people were inside the home when the shooting took place. They say they don't believe the shooting was self inflicted, but are still trying to piece together what happened.
His mother could be heard screaming from the front porch to another family member that "he was shot with a Glock."
"I think it's a little chaotic," said Jonathan Hodges, a neighbor. "I just moved here. It makes you want to move now because this is unsafe for my family and everyone else in the neighborhood. I think this is pretty overboard, you know."
Neighbors say this isn't the first time they've heard gunfire coming from that home - and they say they even heard shots earlier in the day.
