LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- It's official: Walsh Construction will build the new downtown bridge and revamp the Kennedy bridge and Spaghetti Junction.The company out of Chicago won the bid to do the work for $971 million.
Construction starts next summer and will be complete in Dec. 2016.
That's more than a year-and-a-half earlier than the state's estimates.
Walsh is also the contractor for the Milton-Madison bridge.
