Wheelchair users can obtain free rides for holiday shopping

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- Yellow Cab of Louisville is offering people who use wheelchairs free rides for holiday shopping this Saturday.  The offer is good this Saturday, December 15th, from 9-5.

The company says wheelchair customers and two other people can take the taxi from most places in the metro Louisville area to any mall or department store.  It says motorized wheelchairs must be smaller than 31 inches outside to outside and 54 inches tall.

"We are honored to provide this free service to our wheelchair-bound customers to help make holiday shopping a little bit easier, by providing door-to-door and on demand service from their homes to their shopping destinations," said Steve Coston, president of Procarent, operator of Yellow Cab in Louisville.

Yellow Cab suggests making reservations at 502-636-5511 by requesting the Santa Wheelchair Taxi.
