LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- Ford has found a fix for a major problem in its Louisville-built Escapes. The automaker will update software on the 2013 Escape and Fusion cars to fix a coolant problem that can cause fires.
Last month, it recalled more than 89,000 of the SUVs and cars. Drivers had complained about overheating and fires. The problem has caused nine fires.
So far only about 17,000 customers have taken their cars to dealers.
