LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police say they have arrested two people who decided to take a chance on some lottery tickets. Unfortunately, police say, the tickets didn't belong to them.
Shortly after 4 a.m. on Monday, police say 22-year-old Darrius Moultrie and 21-year-old Keon Bundley were at the Speedway on Taylorsville Road, near Stony Brook Drive, when the store clerk quit his or her job and left the store unattended.
Police say Moultrie and Bundley then took items from off the shelves and behind the counter. The pair left briefly, then returned and took more items.
According to arrest reports, they took $1,000 in lottery tickets and $420 of merchandise, including cigarettes.
None of the items was paid for, according to police.
The incident was allegedly captured by surveillance cameras.
Police apprehended the suspects at their home on Arbor Pointe Place, not far from the store. Both were arrested and charged with shoplifting.
