LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- Wednesday is the 27th anniversary of the crash of a flight carrying 248 soldiers from Fort Campbell in 1985.
The soldiers of the 101st Airborne Division were returning home from a six-month peacekeeping mission in the Sinai Peninsula in Egypt.
Arrow Airlines Flight 1285 stopped to refuel in Gander, Newfoundland on December 12th, 1985. The plane crashed immediately on takeoff, killing all 256 people on board.
