LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- Even McDonald's is celebrating the once-a-century historic date with a special deal. To mark Wednesday's date of 12/12/12, its Restaurants of Kentuckiana are offering the Big Mac for $1.12.
McDonald's spokeswoman Holly Weyler explains, "12/12/12 is just one of those dates that's only going to happen once in our lifetime, and we thought it would be a fun way to celebrate -- to get people excited by offering one of our favorite flagship burgers for a great price."
The special runs until midnight, with a limit of 12. Big Macs were introduced on the menu in 1968 and quickly gained popularity.
Other local businesses are also running specials for the historic date.
