LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Two agencies that have served Kentucky kids for decades have now combined to become one.
Bellewood Home for Children and Brooklawn Child & Family Services announced a merger on Thursday morning. They have formed a new agency called "Uspiritus."
The new Uspiritus will serve more than 1,100 children with more than 300 employees and a $23 million budget.
The agency provides a range of services, including counseling, therapy and foster care to young people from infants to age 22.
Uspiritus will operate two residential campuses in Louisville and regional offices in Lexington, Bowling Green and Paducah.
Bellewood's President and CEO, Mary Kate Poling, will lead the new agency.
