LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- A Kentucky boy described as "gravely ill" is trying to set a Guinness World Record for the most Christmas cards received.
On Friday alone, Dalton Dingus received about 19,500 letters and 200 packages. On Saturday, post office workers at the Mount Sterling branch will present Dalton with a handmade 4' X 8' Christmas card. Mount Sterling Postmaster Glenn Chapman said in a news release, "The personal touch of a greeting card can never be replaced. The thousands of cards so far received may be a modern day Christmas miracle for this boy."
Right now, the Guinness World Record administrators do not keep track of such a record; Dalton's supporters hope they can change that.
