LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- One hunter believes he knows what has been attacking animals in Shelby County.  It's been a mystery people there have been trying to solve for weeks.

Kevin Peak is a detective with LMPD and an avid hunter.  He says he saw the animal Friday morning in a field.  Peak says it was a pretty big dog -- and there's more.  He says there were two of them:  "I at first thought it was a coyote, and I looked up. It looked like a German Shepherd, slash Chow.  Pretty good size dog, 70 or 80 pound dog, and it come across the field and there was another dog kind of trailing it with it."

County officials plan to meet with neighbors on Monday to talk about what, if anything, can be done about the animals.
