CRAWFORD | U of L's Angel Nunez will transfer

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- Sophomore forward Angel Nunez has decided to transfer and will leave U of L at the semester break, Cardinals coach Rick Pitino said this afternoon.

Nunez was slowed by a concussion in the preseason, but Pitino said that wasn't a factor in his decision.

"With Wayne (Blackshear) and Luke (Hancock) ahead of him, he wanted to find a place where there will be more playing time, and all of our coaches support his decision," Pitino said.

The 6-8, 200-pound sophomore had not seen the court at all this season after logging 55 total minutes in 12 games as a freshman.

Nunez will have three full seasons of eligibility remaining.
