Contractor pleads not guilty to scamming Henryville tornado victims

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- A home-improvement contractor says he's didn't scam two people after the March 2nd tornado in Henryville.  50-year-old Karl Wray pleaded not guilty to fraud and theft charges.

Investigators say he was paid, but failed to do work on four homes, including two homes damaged by the storm.

Wray was arrested at his home on Wednesday in the Sellersburg area.

A former Indiana State Police trooper says Wray overcharged him more than $2500 for a roofing job.

13 Southern Indiana residents died in the storms on March 2nd.
