POLICE: Argument inside car led to shooting, crash

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- Police say an argument inside a car may have led to a shooting in the Shawnee neighborhood.

Police say afterwards, the car crashed through the intersection of Shawnee and Herman on Monday afternoon.  They say the car knocked down a light pole and went careening across the sidewalk.

A contractor with an employee installing a roof went to the car and noticed a shooting victim inside.  He told his boss it looked like a pretty bad wound to the head.  Craig Dyer said, "Once they ran up to the car, the guy in the front seat and back seat were argument, or actually wrestling and the guy in the front seat said that he had a gun, for them to run.  Well, at that stage they just took off running."

Dyer continued, "You hope you never have to deal with this, you know.  Horrible thing, horrible thing."

The victim, whose name has not been released, was taken to University Hospital with what were described as life-threatening injuries.
