LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Greater Clark County school board voted on Tuesday evening not to renew the contract of Jim Sexton.
He's the current Clark County Options Alternative School principal who was removed as the Jeffersonville High School principal in late October.
Four school board members voted in favor of removing Sexton, two voted against and one member abstained from the vote, according to Greater Clark County Schools spokesperson Erin Borjorquez.
Superintendent Andrew Melin said in a statement tonight that Sexton had been insubordinate and showed a lack of professional judgment.
"Mr. Sexton's failure to follow directives issued rises to the level of insubordination and he has demonstrated a lack of professional judgment when dealing with some personnel matters."
The vote Tuesday means Sexton's principal's contract will expire June 30th. He will remain the alternative school principal until the end of the 2012-13 school year.
He could remain as a teacher in the district.
WDRB News called Sexton for comment, but received no response.
