Louisville, Ky. (WDRB) -- Holiday wreaths are hanging in Louisville to honor the victims of the Connecticut school shooting.
Community members gathered at the Garden of Angels memorial site this afternoon to hang 27 wreaths -- one for each victim.
The memorial site was originally created for 4 teens killed in a car crash.
But today, the community used it to pray... not only for the Sandy Hook victims, but for people around the country who lost their lives to violence this year.
"This is a local reflection site, but it becomes a national and international site as we connect to the vibes of those who are suffering and those who are saddened by the loss of their loved ones," says community activist Christopher 2x.
Gathering at the Garden of Angels has become a tradition for those mourning on Christmas.
