THEATER, DANCE & PERFORMANCES

"Flash Gordon: Space Soldiers" and "Commando Cody: Zombies of the Stratosphere"

The First Chapters

Friday November 30, 12/7, 12/14, 1/11, 1/18, & 1/25/13 at 10 p.m.

The Alley Theater, 1210 E Franklin Street

A new season brings new Sci-Fi adventures to late nights at The Alley Theater. We kick off things off this month with the first episode in the classic adventure serials, "Flash Gordon: Space Soldiers" and Commando Cody: Zombies of the Stratosphere"!

"Flash Gordon: Space Soldiers" is the original science fiction film serial featuring classic comic-strip hero Flash Gordon.

Told in 13 parts, the serial follows Flash as he attempts to stop the planet Mongo on its collision course with Earth and defeat Mongo's evil ruler, the merciless Emperor Ming!

"Commando Cody: Zombies of the Stratosphere" is the second Republic Pictures serial featuring the rocket-powered, high-flying adventurer Commando Cody.

Cody and his jetpack (with user-friendly "up" and "down" operational controls) must fight Martian invaders who aim to save the ecology of their dying planet by using a hydrogen bomb to blast Earth away from the Sun and have Mars take its place.

But gangsters, runaway trains, and giant robots stand between Cody and saving the earth!

We'll be doing each chapter in three-week installments on Friday nights over the course of the season, and doing them as only the Alley can. Breakneck action!

Bare-bones budget! Ridiculous props! Improvised hilarity!
