Frankfort, Ky. (WDRB) -- Kentucky State Police are investigating an officer-involved shooting in Franklin County.
A woman called 911 Sunday evening saying she was trapped in her home with an armed man. When Frankfort Police arrived, the woman had barricaded herself in a room away from the man.
Tactical teams arrived and tried to negotiate, but the man suddenly ran from the house, pointed the gun at police and was shot by officers on scene. He died at the Franklin County Regional Medical Center. The woman was not hurt.
All officers involved are on standard administrative leave.
