Registration required to attend Pence inaugural events

Posted: Updated:

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -- People planning to attend events surrounding the inauguration of Gov.-elect Mike Pence are being urged to register.

Pence's office says people who want to attend the inaugural ball must register online by Friday at www.indianaworks.eventbrite.com.

The cost of attending the ball is $75 per person. The event will be held Jan. 12 at the JW Marriott hotel in downtown Indianapolis.

Earlier that day, a family fun day will be held at the Dallara IndyCar factory in Speedway. That event is free, but registration is required.

Registration also is required for a free, public worship service on Sunday, Jan. 13, at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis.

Pence will be sworn into office on Jan. 14 at the Statehouse.
