U.S. Marshals arrest suspect wanted for multiple bank robberies

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A man suspected of robbing several banks was arrested Wednesday.

Robert Manley, 49, was arrested by the LMPD and the U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force on 1/2/13 at an apartment complex in Louisville.

Manley was wanted for questioning by police in connection with several bank robberies in the Louisville Metro in December, including one on New Year's Eve.

Police say Manley would threaten tellers by claiming he had planted explosives set to go off if an alarm was triggered. He also claimed to have a friend monitoring police scanners.

Manley was already on supervised release from previous federal fraud charges and recently violated the conditions of his supervised release.
