LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police say a drunk driver was all wet -- literally.
Shortly before 4:30 a.m. on Thursday, officers were dispatched to a home near the intersection of Billtown Road and Colonnades Place on a report of a man who was knocking on the resident's door asking to use his or her phone because his vehicle had "broken down."
When police arrived, they found the man, who turned out to be 30-year-old Andrew Skinner.
Police say he told them he had accidentally driven his truck off the road and into a pond that was up the street.
Skinner was also allegedly wet "up to his waist" and "smelled strongly of alcohol." Police say he told them he had consumed several beers before the accident, but had drank "none since."
Several empty beer containers were allegedly found in the vehicle.
Skinner was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
