The Kentucky Stickhorses host the opening game of the season against the Boston Rockhoppers January 5 at 7 p.m. at Freedom Hall. Each youth player who wears his or her lacrosse jersey will be admitted to the game for free.
Stickhorses games are family friendly entertainment and features lots of giveaways and contests for the fans. The Kentucky Stickhorses are the first professional lacrosse team in Kentucky and feature talent from the Louisville area as well as players from across the country.
Coach Pete Schroeder has assembled a strong team featuring some lacrosse veterans as well as exciting new talent. The team is lead by team veterans Anthony Kelly and Greg Bice. New additions to the team include NLL veteran Mike McClellan and MLL stand out Chazz Woodson who will join the team beginning in February.
This season brings the additions of the KaZoing. Kidz Korral is filled with huge inflatables and other great activities. The Paddock Pub is there for people who want to be close to the action on the boards in the opposite end zone for the over 21 crowd.
Louisville's own Patrick Hughes will sing the National Anthem for the home opener.
The team competes in the North American Lacrosse League (NALL), which showcases the best of professional indoor lacrosse. The league includes the Kentucky Stickhorses as well as the Boston Rockhoppers, Baltimore Bombers, and Rhode Island Kingfish.
