LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- A central Kentucky woman notices her coffee is an odd color. It turns out, the cup of java was laced with rat poison.
William Cain of Richmond, Ky. admitted in court today to putting the poison in his wife's coffee. He's charged with attempted manslaughter.
His now-former wife, Deborah Cain, called police last May to report the tainted drink. Apparently, she had been warned that her husband made comments about wanting to harm her.
William Cain is set to be sentenced in February and faces up to six and a half years in prison.
