LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- The University of Louisville basketball team has excelled in the classroom as well as on the court, the university says.
The collective grade point average for the team for the 2012 Fall Semester is 3.41. Fifteen of the 17 student athletes made a 3.0 or better. Both those numbers are records for the men's basketball team, the university says.
Twelve Cardinals have a cumulative 3.25 or better.
The university also points out that the team earned the 2010-11 and 2011-12 Big East Conference Team Academic Excellence Awards. Those awards recognize the highest collective grade-point averages in the conference's 24 sports.
