LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- One person is dead and another hurt after a crash Saturday morning in Shively.
Louisville Metro Police say the driver of a Chrysler Sebring lost control and hit an abandoned car, before hitting a fence in the 3200 block of Seventh Street just before 9:00 a.m. Saturday.
Police say there was one passenger in the car and that both the driver and the passenger were women in their 30s.
One of them was pronounced dead at the scene and the other was taken to University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police say they aren't sure which one of the women was the driver.
Officials say speed was a factor in the crash and that they do not think the women were wearing seatbelts. Police are still investigating whether drugs and alcohol were involved in the crash.
Seventh Street in Shively was shut down for a short time Saturday morning while police investigated the crash.
