LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- Kentucky lawmakers convene a legislative session on Tuesday which is expected to look at reforming the state's tax code and finding ways to strengthen government retirees' pension plan.
That pension plan has a $33 million unfunded liability. A legislative task force has recommended putting more money into the system without saying where it would come from.
In addition, a group which Governor Steve Beshear appointed has recommended changes to the tax code that would generate about $690 million more a year.
The legislature could even tackle the divisive issue of legislative redistricting, which it did not finish last year.
