HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police in Hopkinsville say a husband shot his wife and adult son before turning the gun on himself over the weekend.
Police spokesman Paul Ray said on Monday that 68-year-old Tommie Summers fired the shots that killed 67-year-old Linda Summers and their son, 38-year-old Brian Summers. Ray classified the killings Saturday as a murder-suicide.
Tommie and Linda Summers were pronounced dead inside their home. Brian Summers was taken to Jennie Stuart Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.
The victims were found by another son when he arrived at the house around 9:45 a.m. and called for help.
Sgt. Kyle Spurlin says a dog was also shot, but is expected to survive.
