Thieves steal equipment from North Oldham High School

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- North Oldham High School takes a hit that leaves police scratching their heads.

Several big ticket items were stolen, but police have recovered a trailer used to steal them.

Police say the thieves used the school's band trailer to get away with thousands of dollars worth of lawn equipment.

"You feel like your school is really safe, we did have everything locked up the building was secure, and you just don't expect people are going to come in and clean out your entire storage unit," says Anne Coorssen, General Council for Oldham County Board of Education.

They dumped the trailer in West Louisville with little left inside.

Thieves broke into the school's shortage building and got away with ATV's, a couple lawn mowers, and many other pieces of equipment.

Police believe it happened sometime on Sunday.

The school is relieved to get its trailer back, and hopeful police will recover the rest of the stolen items.

Coorssen says, "If you see someone with new mowers new gators, basically new lawn equipment and it seems a little suspicious contact the Oldham County Police."

You can reach Oldham County Police at (502) 222-1300.
