LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- At least one suspect has been arrested after police say a woman was attacked at Mall St. Matthews just days after Christmas.

It happened on Dec. 28. Police say 18-year-old Diamond Maddox and two juvenile accomplices walked up to a complete stranger in the mall and got into an argument with her while inside one of the stores.

Store employees then asked Maddox and her accomplices to leave. Police say they waited for the victim to walk out into the concourse of the mall, and when she did, they assaulted her.

According to police, one of the juveniles punched her in the face and then Maddox and the other juvenile joined in the attack, hitting the victim multiple times.

Mall employees broke up the fight.

The woman went to Norton Audubon Hospital for treatment for her injuries, which allegedly included a contusion to the left eye, a burst blood vessel in the left eye and abrasions to her face. CAT Scans were also taken of her spine, facial bones and head.

Maddox has been charged with fourth degree assault, a misdemeanor. Information about her juvenile accomplices is not available, since juvenile records are sealed.
