LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville woman has been arrested after police say she tried to walk out of Kroger with more than $500 worth of University of Louisville Cardinals jackets and t-shirts.

It happened at the Kroger near the corner of Goss Avenue and Eastern Parkway just before 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Police say store employees saw 30-year-old Erica K. Johnson "walking around the store in a suspicious manner."

Employees allegedly told police that she tried to run out of the exit with "multiple U of L jackets and U of L Championship t-shirts," leaving a cart full of groceries by the door.

The merchandise was worth $512.96, according to police.

Johnson was arrested at the scene and charged with theft by unlawful taking.
