LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Gun owners are speaking out as Vice President Joe Biden begins work on finding solutions curbing gun violence.
Local gun owners say new firearm regulations will not solve the problem.
They believe the answer is education and people taking more responsibility with the weapons.
Advocates says a ban on assault weapons would be useless, no law will prevent a criminal for causing harm.
"The gentleman in the Connecticut school, he had no opposition if he had had a single shot firearm he could have caused just as much meanness because there was no one to stop him," says Wayne McLeod, a member of a local gun club.
National Gun appreciation day is January 19th.
Organizers are hoping to send a message to President Obama.
