LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- First reports from a bus that slid off the road Friday morning said no one was hurt -- but that changed after several students arrived at school.
A JCPS bus headed to Kammerer Middle School slid off the road just before 7:30 a.m. According to MetroSafe officials, the driver of JCPS Bus #9975 was trying to avoid a truck when the wheels on the right side of the bus slid off the road and into a ditch at Brownsboro Road and Lime Kiln Lane.
No injuries were reported at the scene and another bus took the children on to Kammerer. That's when JCPS officials say two students complained of pain and EMS was called to the school. Eventually EMS took 13 students to the hospital to be checked out.
JCPS spokesman Ben Jackey says several parents also took their children to medical facilities to be checked out.
There's no word of any serious injuries among the children.
