More Indiana flu deaths

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- 15 people in Indiana have now died from the flu after five new deaths were reported overnight.

Officials call the outbreak "moderately severe."

Two of those new deaths were patients in long-term care facilities.

The flu season has hit earlier this year and officials say it could put Indiana on pace to exceed the average of 7 to 30 deaths from the illness a year.

Indiana is one of 41 states seeing intense flu outbreaks right now.
