LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Indiana State Police say they found almost 46 pounds of marijuana during a traffic stop Friday afternoon, along I-65 north of Sellersburg.
Trooper Nate Abbott stopped a black 2007 Chevrolet Impala with windows that were illegally tinted, police said in a news release late Friday.
He suspected something was wrong, and a subsequent search of the vehicle yielded approximately 46 pounds of marijuana. The marijuana was located in both the passenger and trunk areas of the car in luggage, a backpack and a cloth bag, according to the release.
Police estimated the street value of the seized pot is over $46,000.
The driver, Amanda Lucia Arellano, 20, from Edinburg, Texas, is charged with 3 felonies.
Passenger Irma Maldonado, 46 and also from Texas, is charged with 3 felonies.
An additional male passenger, a juvenile, faces delinquency charges, police said.
