Rick Pitino's Louisville team can move to Number One if Ohio State beats Michigan Sunday.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) – DeShaun Thomas is Ohio State's
leading scorer. He averages more than 20 points per game and he'll take double
the field-goal attempts of any of his Buckeyes' teammates.
Aaron Craft is the point guard. Lenzell Smith Jr. is the
second-leading scorer. LaQuinton Ross is the X-factor.
Why the scouting report on Thad Matta's team?
Because if Ohio State (12-3) topples unbeaten Michigan in
Columbus today there will be no unbeatens left in college basketball and
Louisville jumps to Number One in the next edition of the weekly polls on
Monday.
The Cards are third in the AP poll and fourth in the USA
Today coaches' poll. But Duke (number one) and Arizona (fourth AP, third USA
Today) have already lost this week. Indiana, fifth in both polls, figures to
jump at least Arizona.
What is the forecast?
Vegas favors Ohio State by two points. Pomeroy and Sagarin
only have the Buckeyes on top by one.
The game tips at 1:30 p.m. on CBS. The loser will be the
sixth Top 25 team to fall this weekend.
U of L has not been ranked Number One in the AP poll since
the final week of the 2008-09 regular season when the Cards earned 45
first-place votes to finish ahead of North Carolina, which won the NCAA title.
