Mitch Daniels says he's eager to get to work as Purdue University president

LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- Outgoing Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels says he is eager to get to work at his new job as president of Purdue University.

Within the first six months on the job, Daniels have to become acquainted with the campus of 76,000 students, will oversee legislative hearings on the school's 2013-15 budget, and work on new tuition levels.

He has already held a few dozen meetings with students and staff to take a look at the tasks ahead of him.

Daniels is expected to arrive at the West Lafayette campus on Monday afternoon following Mike Pence's swearing-in as Indiana's new governor.
