LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville mother has been charged with criminal abuse after police say she used a fork to burn her 12-year-old's neck.
According to an arrest warrant, the events took place on Oct. 17. Police say 41-year-old Rebecca Devine took a fork that had been in a skillet of hot grease and placed it against the neck of her 12-year-old daughter.
The act caused a 4-inch burn, according to police.
The girl was taken to Kosair Children's Hospital for treatment, and a police report was filed.
Devine was charged with second-degree criminal abuse of a child 12 or under, and a warrant was issued for her arrest. She was taken into custody on Saturday night, shortly after 9:00.
