LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- A Louisville man facing murder charges in connection with the deaths of two members of a homeowners association is one step closer to facing trial.
Mahmoud Yousef Hindi appeared in court Monday morning. Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney Ryane Conroy says ballistics tests could take two or three months.
Judge Fred Cowan said attorneys can set a trial date during Hindi's next hearing on March 4.
Police say Hindi told them he walked into a homeowners association meeting back in September and shot and killed 73-year-old David Merritt and 69-year-old Marvin Fisher. Hindi has said he was having a dispute with the association over his home.
